Our Flight Instructor Instrument training (CFI-I)
is intended for candidates of all ages – from college upper level
to people with commercial and government agencies around the United
States.
The (CFI-I) is structured to allow qualified candidates to enroll at
the Academy upon earning the Flight Instructor Airplane (CFI-A) credentials.
Our unique training modules illustrate the normal progression of our
entire program. Graduates will then be eligible for a post-graduate internship
as a staff flight instructor and then line job placement assistance.
Students with previous flight experience may be eligible for training
credit in accordance with the part 61 federal aviation rules.
This course teaches the necessary knowledge and skills and what needs
to be shown to be consider competent in each of 3 different contexts;
Aircraft training, teaching process and methods, and Ground School /classroom
training.
The standard course will include: Advanced Cockpit Training Familiarization
(ACTF), Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) and its new approval (released
by FAA on Jan 04, 2005) regarding equipment used by American Academy
of Aeronautics at our Sim Center.
Upon successful completion the applicant will have satisfied the following
conditions for FAR61:
» Flight training (per FAR61 subpart-H section

» Aeronautical Knowledge (per FAR61 subpart-H section 61.185(a)(3))

American Academy of Aeronautics uses the unique flight training module
concept to manage and deliver its training, this (CFI-I) require its
candidates to successfully complete a minimum of 1.0 modules before you
are qualified to earn your course graduation certificate.

Actual training module structure may vary according to
the stage of training and the students prior experience.
Course objectives
Ground School /classroom training
Course management and record keeping
Simulators /training devices (CBT, FMD trainer, approved flight training
devices)
Flight training in approved factory new fleet, equipped with GPS and
autopilot
Cockpit skills include supervision and critique
Flight Instructor Class Presentation
Phase checks / Licensing skill
The Academy outlines an optional online ground school; this allows candidates
to complete the FAA written exam bookwork from home prior to stating,
the actual exam can be taken at the training facilities upon arrival.
2 school weeks, 5-6 days per week
To be accepted as a student at American Academy of Aeronautics, you
must meet the following requirements prior to enrollment:
» Flight Instructor certificate with an airplane and single-engine class
rating (CFI-A).
» Pilot in command recent flight experience (per FAR61)
» Written exam results with a pass score, for instrument instructor airplane.
» Obtain an FAA first or second-class medical certificate.
» Possess a high school diploma or GED.
» Be able to read, speak fluently and understand the English language.
» Be a United States Citizen, a legal resident of the U.S. or hold a valid
visa to receive training in the U.S.
» To qualify for transport-category aircraft training in the ACT program,
you must be a U.S. Citizen, and pass all relevant Federal (FAA, TSA, etc.) security
checks that are required at the time of enrollment.
Career pilot start dates are the first and third
Monday of each month. (Due to national holidays on Mondays, some start
dates will fall on Tuesday).
This circular scheduling system allows out-of-town, transferring, and
local students to start at any time during the training season. This
flexible start is one of the Academy’s highlights that permits
the seamless flow of training modules, and is a great factor in reaching
seniority when you start your post-graduate internship with us, and later
when you are hired by one of the US operators. Aviation is a profession
where seniority is a large factor in hiring and assignments.
American Academy of Aeronautics general admission
policy is to register incoming students on a first come first serve
bases, once the class date
is full, your ill be given the option to register for the next available
class or be on a standby bases for the next open class date.
